Recipe: Salsa Chicken In The Crockpot
Today I am sharing a super easy recipe for salsa chicken in the crock pot. You only need a few ingredients for this recipe, the prep time is less than 10 minutes, and then all you do is let the crock pot do the work for you! If this sounds as amazing to you as it sounded to me, read on!
Ingredients-
Chicken breasts. I used two chicken breast steaks because that’s what I had on hand.
1 can of black beans
1 can of corn kernels
1 can of green chilies
1 jar of salsa
Salt and pepper to taste
Put your chicken in the bottom of your crock pot.
Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper.
Pour your jar of salsa on top of the chicken.
Add the can of corn.
Add the can of black beans.
Add the can of green chilies.
Once all those ingredients are added, cover the crock pot and cook on high.
After the chicken has been cooking for a few hours, take two forks and start pulling the chicken apart so it’s shredded.
Let your chicken cook in the crock pot all day long (7-9 hours). Super simple. I usually prep this meal first thing when I wake up and it’s ready to eat by the time my husband gets home from work around five pm.
Take your delicious meal out of the crock pot and plate.
I like to add sour cream and sliced avocado to this recipe because it adds a nice little something extra. It is delicious without those things though!
