Christmas Sugar Cookie Recipe and Decorating Fun.
Ingredients
SUGAR COOKIE INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 CUP shortening
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tablespoons milk
FROSTING INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 cup cristco
- 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
MAKE THE COOKIES
- Cream shortening.
- Add sugar.
- Add eggs and beat well.
- Add vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients alternatly with milk and mix well.
- Roll 1/8 inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
- Use cookie cutters to make shapes.
- Bake in a 375 degree oven for 6 minutes.
MAKE THE FROSTING
- Mix everything together with an electric mixer.
- Color the frosting any colors you'd like.
- Put in zip lock bags or frosting bags.
- Frost the cookies when they are cooled.
